Some Good People Win This Time

Almost two weeks ago the news was published: Ohio to implement nation's largest voucher program. This after the Supreme Court ruled that Cleveland's program - which includes religious schools - does not violate the separation of church and state.
I think most are aware of the school war - a war against the spread of socialism via the public school system - a system under tight control by vicious union thugs that will stop at nothing to prevent the public school system from loosing to voucher programs and privatization. For the first time parents in parts of Ohio will have a choice - yes, even poor families - will be able to choose a better education for their children. They will, should they so choose, remove their children from a system that focuses on the survival of the union in exchange for a private system where the focus is on educating the student. Since private schools don't have the socialistic overhead glut that has grown through the years in the public school system they operate more efficiently with better academic focus than the public system.
The article states that only Florida and Wisconsin offer voucher programs similar to Ohio's. Both were founded under Republican governors.
Also, the Milwaukee School Choice Program, which serves more than 14,000 students, began 15 years ago. Democrat Jim Doyle, now Wisconsin's governor, has vetoed three attempts to lift or raise its enrollment cap.
Democrats have consistently keep the poor from advancing while all the time trying to BS them that they, the Democrats, were on their side. Think again! Whatever the racial makeup parents in lower income levels would sure like to send their children to private schools - just like big fat liberal Democrat Senator Kennedy does.
Congratulations to the people of Ohio - I hope more parents in other states will put the pressure on their liberal socialist officials and demand they are provided with the same choice that those in Ohio will enjoy - for their children's sake - not the unions!

According to NeoPolitique, "Surprisingly, however, there has been a growing movement among conservatives against the tax-funded voucher plan. This movement is relatively small in number, but is steadily gaining momentum. Its leaders assert that school vouchers are not the answer to education reform. They believe that in the long run, tax-supported vouchers will only prolong government control of education."

So much for your theory that vouchers are ONLY opposed by socialists, pacificists, liberals and unions.

According to The Black Commentator, "During decades of urban struggles, nobody Black ever marched for private school vouchers, a scheme born in Dixie to fund “segregation academies” for whites fleeing school desegregation. Fermented and refined for years in the think tanks of the racist rich, southern “massive resistance” has morphed into the even more ambitious school voucher offensive, whose object is nothing less than the destruction of public education."

I guess, according to YOUR theory, blacks must all be socialists.

I'm sure you can bring up all sorts of quotes and all I can say that they don't matter to parents - and since you've never been one you wouldn't understand. If you want to argue with anyone on this take up your fight with the parents that have been empowered with the freedom to use vouchers for their children. Convince them they are making a mistake in sending their children to a better academic environment. Go fight with all the parents that are screaming for the chance to send their children to private schools. Nothing you post here will change their minds - they know.

I guess, according to YOUR theory, blacks must all be socialists. - No trey, you guessed wrong - as usual. As far as the color of socialists? They are probably mostly white fools.

Hmm. Let's review the record. You wrote the following:

"I think most are aware of the school war - a war against the spread of socialism via the public school system - a system under tight control by vicious union thugs that will stop at nothing to prevent the public school system from loosing to voucher programs and privatization."

"Democrats have consistently keep the poor from advancing..."

"I hope more parents in other states will put the pressure on their liberal socialist officials and demand they are provided with the same choice that those in Ohio will enjoy - for their children's sake - not the unions!"

Seems to me like a consistent message. So, I'm not putting words in your mouth -- You are.

since you've never been one you wouldn't understand.

If you want to argue this point, you need to apply it across the board. Consequently, if you've never been a) a public school teacher, b) a member of a union, c) a Taoist, d) a Socialist, e) a Democrat, or f) a Pacifist, then (according to your OWN logic), you don't understand any of them nor should you pass judgement on them.

Your accusation was your theory that vouchers are ONLY opposed by socialists, pacificists, liberals and unions - and nowhere did I make such limitation with "ONLY". I try to explain the simple to you but you have a knack of non-comprehension.

It is not worth trying to explain to some native head-hunter in the jungles the concept of pulsed neural networks because they just won't be able to comprehend. Can you grasp what I'm saying?

Again, go cry to the parents that want - that demand - a choice for their children. Cry to them that they should stay in the public school system. Report back here with how successful you were.

All my readers need to do is Google for school vouchers. Unions (socialists) hate the concept - parenets demand it. How do we know they demand it? Because more states are succoming to the pressures of the parents. This should not be a political issue - it is a parental issue. If should not be which side gains or looses - it should be whether the child will gain or loose academically as well as morally. Public schools do not breed character in their students - it's not in their agenda.

And trey - please don't attack with comments demanding more links. Get off your lazy socialist ass and look up the facts for yourself. Again - we will all be waiting your report on your success (or failure) to convince the parents to not want the choice of vouchers.

Bravo to Ohio! I hope this voucher system spreads. This is precisely what we need in Canada, a chance to funnel our education tax dollars into schools of our preference. As it stands, only the wealthy can afford to send their children to private schools, where they receive a vastly superior education to those in public schools. I cannot see why anyone would be against this, as it offers freedom of choice, and a loosening of the paralyzing grip of socialists on the current education sys....whoa, I just got it.
