    Apple Tells France: SHOVE IT!

While France was successful in taking bribes from Saddam Hussein they found their arrogance hit a brick wall when they tried to dictate to an American firm - Apple Corporation - how their business should be run.

Quick background. DRM - Digital Rights Management
is the umbrella term referring to any of several technologies used to enforce pre-defined policies controlling access to software, music, movies, or other digital data. In more technical terms, DRM handles the description, layering, analysis, valuation, trading and monitoring of the rights held over a digital work. In the widest possible sense, the term refers to any such management.
France does not think there should be such a thing. French people can't come up with any worthwhile technology on their own, so basically they demand that any outside company possessing technology beyond their comprehension must expose their technology secrets.

This is what France has tried to do this past Tuesday when French-fried lawmakers approved the draft law bill 296-1193. Apple responded by saying if the law should pass it would result in "state-sponsored piracy".

My advise to Apple: Dump the French market - they are not needed in the big picture and they contribute no more than 5% to your bottom line. Besides, aside from their decreasing quality of wine - they have absolutely nothing to offer the world. Dump 'em.

Apple isn't the only one pissed at France. Their own young people have been left to go violent for 4 days now - vandalism, attacks, looting, destruction. While France burns Jaques Chirac thinks there should be compassion in their costly welfare state. Ah, the liberal mindset.

    Today's WTF news story:
WASHINGTON (AP) - In the aftermath of the Dubai ports dispute, the Bush administration is hiring a Hong Kong conglomerate to help detect nuclear materials inside cargo passing through the Bahamas to the United States and elsewhere.
Hmmm - Chinese protecting the USA? Is this a no-brainer or what? Why can't Americans protect America? OMG - I need to go chill and forget this stupid world for a couple of days.
