    Glasnost & Perestroika

Coming Wednesday - is it all happy-go-lucky with our arch-enemy?. In the mean time...

In good liberal form people are trying to find out why Humpback Mountain didn't win best picture of the year. They point to all sorts of reasons - except that one - their film sucked (no pun intended - oh, ok, maybe a little intended).
While some will try and use money-hungry defense attorneys to extort the USA, Some Gitmo Prisoners Don't Want to Go Home (they know how good they've had it):
Fearing militants or even their own governments, some prisoners at Guantanamo Bay from China, Saudi Arabia and other nations do not want to go home, according to transcripts of hearings at the U.S. prison in Cuba.

To the credit of Bill Clinton ("I did not have sex with that woman") the California Supreme Court says California oral sex law violates rights:
"Requiring mandatory lifetime registration of all persons who, like defendant here, were convicted of voluntary oral copulation with a minor of the age of 16 or 17, but not of someone convicted of voluntary sexual intercourse with a minor of the same age, violates the equal protection clauses of the federal and state Constitutions," the court ruled.
It's not so much the oral sex part - it's the use of a minor child part, and we all know all too well how liberal judges are soft on child sex offendors. Anyone yet comprehend the effect a liberal President and liberal court has on the nation, or is it just me?
Now while I'd prefer to know who is leaving a comment I do let people post anonymously if they are ashamed of the comment they are leaving - sort of a free-speech thing I guess. Some people don't have the same thought - like the State of New Jersey in Assembly Bill No. 1327. Here's the synopsis:
Makes certain operators of interactive computer services and Internet service providers liable to persons injured by false or defamatory messages posted on public forum websites.
So if you're an internet ISP (like Comcast or EarthLink) and someone has a public forum on your system and you don't know who posted a comment, and the person that owns that forum feels they have been defamed (by words, links, or cartoons), then it's your fault. Goodbye First Amendment.
