The REAL ID Act has passed the House today, 261 - 161. Well done! We are that much closer to better security and eventually more honest elections! Even over 25% of democrats voted in favor of it - putting the USA above party politics!

Another for victory for the fearmongers.
Another losing proposition for States Rights.
Who needs those pesky laws anyway, why should the government have to obey them?
Foolishness.

I am linking you.
Who hates the REAL ID act?
The ACLU, illegal aliens and all those that aid them, any political party that gets votes from illegal voters, socialists that don't care, the Mexican government, anti-American efforts, terrorists, criminals, etc.
Score one for the good guys/gals! Now on to the Senate!
Happened to my freedom here. Think about it. Only in America can I travel from STATE to STATE and remain a floridian. Now I am a national. Why? Because of fear. Great job we are closer to a POLICE STATE GOV'T. FEAR, is the fool that voted this in.
Fearmongers, have run this country into fox holes. Dam it. This is not good. Government control. I hate the idea of being a national. I am from a state, and I am remaining from a state.
LOL
Sounds like the only one fearing is you amg. Tell me, does your state issue you your money? Do you rely on your state for your defense? I'd go even farther and promote a national ID as well as a national drivers license. Some states (blue states?) could care less about the security of the USA.
Don't be afraid amg - you will still be able to pay those Florida taxes. Chill, LOL.
Wow - some people sure make quite the jump into feardom don't they! Ignorance breeds fear I guess.
Simply put, I'm against this bill because it eliminates any form of judicial review in instances of litigation concerning the Department of Homeland Security and any contractors with regards to the provisions in this bill. Check out this post on my blog for more information.
That is my main reason for opposing this idiotic and destructive piece of legislation. It goes against the democratic principles our country was founded upon.
This law does not give DHS broad ranging authority. You have just shown a classic liberal tactic of using one small part to shout about by taking it out of context.
The language says.. "(1) IN GENERAL- Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall have the authority to waive, and shall waive, all laws such Secretary, in such Secretary's sole discretion, determines necessary to ensure expeditious construction of the barriers and roads under this section."
You will please not the phrase "expeditious construction of the barriers and roads under this section."
This applies to Barriers and roads. What? Are you scared that they are going to build a road through your house?
I think I figured it out while investigating this. If I am correct, this is one of the most deviously planned and brilliantly executed maneuvers I have ever seen in politics.
The dept. of Homeland security can now build roads and barriers where they want with no interference whatsoever right?
There went Clintons "No raod rule."
All those natural resources that were off limits before are now open for business. As I said, Brilliant.

Or, you know, anyone who respects the carefully crafted balance that is the U.S. Constitution.
Or anyone who thinks we should spend less time and money chasing shadows, and more effort on concrete immigration reform.
Or someone who thinks the govt. should be held to higher standard under the law rather than being exempt.

I'm all for a national ID card. The more simplistic it is to identify people the better. I don't feel it impunes my liberties at all.
Next up, men on the streets in robotic uniforms asking you, "SHOW ME YOUR PAPERS!"
the robotic right is leading towards Nazism
Well done gindy! And thank you for your post.
I find most all anonymous posters have nothing worthwhile to post. They type but leave nothing of substance. I don't delete posts and I'm more than happy to leave their crazy ranting show for exactly what it is.
Notice he/she didn't post their choice on the post above - about choosing between ACLU Medical and Amerimed. Not even the most extreme card-carrying liberal can respond to that post with any honestly without conflicting with their superficial beliefs.
