    Lord Government

Serf - noun: a person in a condition of servitude, required to render services to a lord, commonly attached to the lord's land and transferred with it from one owner to another; a slave.

That defines all taxpayers. We are required to work and render our money to Lord Government. When they want more, they simple resort to deception ("it's for the children") or use calamities (Katrina, bridge collapse, etc.) as a sign they need more - and more - and more - of our hard earned money.

Let's take the I-35W bridge that recently collapsed in Minneapolis, MN. This happened just a few months ago and you probably recall that afterwards, there was a cry from politicians how the infrastructure of our country was falling apart - that billions spent in Iraq were taking away from needed repairs. We heard immediate justifications for more fuel taxes, increased sales taxes, and simply more taxes. This from a bridge that was rated as "structurally deficient" back in 2005, with cracks and fatigue found in 2006.

What the politicians didn't want you to know:
The evening the bridge collapsed elected officials were gathering with the Minnesota Twins to dedicate construction of a new ballpark - financed with $392 MILLION of taxpayer money - funded by sales tax hike in Hennepin County! (The dedication was cancelled but construction was not called off) The Twins BILLIONAIRE owner is Carl Pohlad - able to pay for it himself but danced with the politicians to use almost $400 MILLION of taxpayer's money!
This is just Minnesota - yet there's more:
    • 1995: Minneapolis forgives $74 million loan it made to the Timberwolves basketball team for the Target Center. Franchise asking for more aid. Translation - the taxpayers (serfs) got screwed again.
    • 2000: Xcel Energy Center built for the Wild hockey team with $65 million in city bonds and a $48 million interest-free state loan, plus a $17 million payment for state high school hockey tournaments to be held there. Franchise now asking that loan be forgiven, citing Timberwolves example. Translation - the taxpayers (serfs) to get screwed again.
    • 2006: State approves $136 million for new Univ. of Minnesota football stadium. Translation - the taxpayers (serfs) got screwed again.
    • 2006: After failed move to Anoka County, Vikings pro football team proposes a $1 billion stadium in downtown Minneapolis. Then-NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue lobbies for public funding. Team could threaten to move to Los Angeles. Translation - the taxpayers (serfs) to be screwed again.
Minnesota is a Democrat state, yet in the meantime, Republican President Bush (who himself received stadium handouts as owner of the Texas Rangers) and Congress have called for millions of dollars to help re-build the bridge.

Remember this next time your city or state claims they need more money for roads, social services, the failing public school machine, real estate deals, sports deals, global warming, or to support the illegal aliens they provide sanctuary to. It all costs money - and every penny comes from you and I.

Ron Paul on debt and taxes:
We cannot continue to allow private banks, wasteful agencies, lobbyists, corporations on welfare, and governments collecting foreign aid to dictate the size of our ballooning budget. We need a new method to prioritize our spending. It's called the Constitution of the United States.
