    Magic Wand of Racism

    I sort of view Obama's election - the first black (although black Charles Rangel said he wasn't a real black man) - as an historic blip that everyone knew would eventually happen. It's like the first time Americans went to the moon - it captivated the world - now no one really cares much about the moon (unfortunately).

    Barack Obama's entire campaign was built on "change" and equality. Now that a black has finally made it as far up as possible in American politics, now that people have wailed at the MLK tomb, now that we've all seen Jesse Jackson crying (although earlier he wanted to castrate Obama), the president-elect can wave his magic wand and make racism disappear. (In reality it is most prevalent in his own party - liberals).

    Some examples of embracing racism over equality that need to change:
    • BET - Black Entertainment Television - racist even in the name will change to EET - Equality Entertainment Television and promote Constitutional equailty
    • NAACP - National Association for the Advancement of Colored People - racist even in the name - will change to NAAAP - National Association for the Advancement of ALL People. This will include awarding scholarships that currently go to blacks only to any person - strip race away
    • Hispanic Scholarship Fund - promotes Hispanics only and gives scholarships only to non-whites
    • Emma L. Bowen Foundation - provides grants to non-white youth only
    Those are just a sample and there are thousands more. I think what the new administration will do is open the eyes of Americans where the real racism is, which party - conservative or liberal - propagates racism, and even which race continues to fuel the fire of racism.

    I'm all for individuals helping who ever they want, but organizations - whether for-profit or non-profit, they should abide by the Declaration of Independence (all men are created equal) and drop their racist actions.
    We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
    Barack Obama - this is a test - for the next 4 years Americans will be watching what laws you push for, are they racist in any way, do they favor one race over another, and just how much - if any - you will promote the foundational rights of America - of true equality when it comes to race.
