I have to admit Barack Obama was smart to visit Germany. He and his political machine spent some time researching Germany and figured out what would appeal to the German masses. Germans have a long history of rallying behind big government oppressive role models - and as we all know, history repeats itself.

I've Done A U Turn

I received a CNN Breaking News email just over an hour ago - U.S. military reports the deaths of 14 troops in Iraq in the last 48 hours, including 5 in a Baghdad roadside bombing Thursday. I thought how awful for their families, but the fight for freedom in Iraq would have a price - right?

I know Saddam is no more. The people of Iraq had elections and a new constitution now exists. Heck, a constitution should be worth fighting for - right?

While I've been down in Mexifornia a good friend of mine suggested I check the Iraq constitution out (thanks GRF) - the full text, not someone's interpretation - so I did.

It took less than 60 seconds to change my mind on this war in Iraq. I want our resources removed. I want our troops home. If there is a civil war that would result then just let it happen - we had our own civil war and dealt with it - let them have theirs.

Most people were deceived by the first point in Chapter One:

Iraq is an independent nation, and its system of government is a democratic, federal, representative republic.

The claim of freedom of religion would be allowed but "Islam is the national religion". Iraq would be sovereign but "The country is part of the Islamic World and its Arab citizens are part of the Arab world".

Now if you think their constitution is the law of the land you are very wrong.

The constitution is the highest law of the land. No law may be passed that contradicts the constitution, the undisputed laws of Islam, or the principles of democracy.

So the reality is our tax money, the lives of our military, our resources, all is going to establish an Islamic nation under rule of Shiria.

The only way to be winners in this is to leave now and let those rug rats kill themselves. There is something awfully wrong in our troops dying for Muslims, for an Allah country - under Shiria Law and where true freedom would be in total conflict. What the hell happened to America?

American taxes - billions - going to a new country where Article 2 of their constitution states "No law can be passed that contradicts the undisputed rules of Islam" - WRONG.

Democrats Right? It Must Be A Civil War!

The figures are staggering and now I can only conclude that liberals have been right all along. Consider these facts from the previous two years:

In 2004 there were 16,148 murders. It doesn't matter how - guns, knives, bombs, etc. - when you've been murdered or know of someone murdered does the method really matter anymore? Then last year, 2005, that number increased to 16,692 murdered. In case you don't have your calculator handy that's a total of 32,740 murdered in just the past 2 years.

Many were murdered by those that invaded the country. Others murdered by their own countrymen. Murder is murder. You or your loved one are dead. Period.

Then the violence - awful violence. In the last 2 years the number of reported forcible rapes was 189,023. Innocent women, even underage girls - raped against their will. Horrible crimes.

Much of their violence doesn't get reported - like violent assaults. In 2004 there were 847,381 violent assaults and last year that number grew to 862,947 violent assaults. Add that up and you have 1,710,328 violent assaults in the past 2 years. Does that sound like people in that country are safe to walk in their own streets?

So by liberal logic we need to pull out now - pull out of America, because these are part of the FBI crime statistics for the United States of America. Obviously Iraq is a safer place to live.

I've seen no "peace protesters" with signs marching against criminals in the USA. I've not seen any child protection group protesting these crime rates. I've seen little being done to halt and reverse the invasion of illegal aliens (criminals) into our country - perpetrators of a huge part of these awful crimes.

But hey - our federal and state governments are attacking trans-fats and cell phones!
