    Starting A Business In Oregon

Is your state like Oregon? Whether you are an entrepreneur and are considering starting a new business in Oregon or already have a business and you are considering moving to Oregon you should consider the growing business environment that Democrat Oregon presents to you.

Wages - if you have requirements for unskilled labor Democrats in Oregon have made sure you get to pay one of the highest minimum wages to unskilled workers - currently $7.80/hour. This might be even more at the local level. (There are 5 states that don't oppress businesses and Kansas has a rate lower than the Federal minimum)

People - If you have a business where the quality and morality of your workforce is important you should know that Democrats in Oregon will help make sure your vision is expanded. You might hire a male one day, then the next week your new employee can show up in drag. Even if you require a uniform your new employee might come to work in a wig with lipstick and heavy eye makeup. You will not be able to fire this worker as long as they are doing their job. (If you have some storefront and I saw such a person I'd be headed for the exit fast)

Family leave - Expect to be obligated to provide long term leave should one of your employees become pregnant. You might also be obligated to give extended leave to the father as well. Democrats feel that it is your responsibility to accommodate the choices of individuals even if it adds to your cost of doing business.

Taxes - If you do business in Oregon and you happen to have paid too much taxes rest assure your over payment might not come back to you. The state feels they have the right to keep over payments and call such theft "rainy day funding". However, you had better be sure you correctly refund any excess payments collected from customers.

Location - If you happen to locate in the wrong place and find low-life scum hanging around your location don't expect help from your local Democrat City Council. They will respect the "rights" of the scum over your rights as a business owner. This has been the routine in cities like Eugene and Portland - and business have fled.

Unions And Advancement - Was I Wrong?

I've always held the belief that unions stunt a person's goals and ambitions. From this blog I've documented how unions discourage advancement, how they discourage giving extra effort, and generally ordering workers to do only what they are suppose to do in their area of responsibility within a fixed time - and no more.

Well then I heard this story that proves unions do promote advancement - well, sort of. Enter Jon Sandell - master grocery bagger.

Jon is a true union man and for over 34 years Jon has bagged groceries. I don't know his exact age but he is at least 50, so do the math and it looks like this might have been his one and only job. I have to wonder when Jon was a little boy - did he dream of bagging groceries for the rest of his life?

Ah, but we do have a Hallmark moment for He beat out the top baggers from all 50 states and Canada by sacking 31 items in 33 seconds. has won the champion grocery bagger contest held in Las Vegas yesterday. Jon beat out the top baggers from all 50 states and Canada by sacking 31 items in 33 seconds.

Now that just goes to show you that unions really do promote advancement. Stay in your job and do nothing else for over 34 years and you too can compete in an exciting competition with others just like you!

I'm excited now. Think of all of those off shore jobs that will be coming back to our country when word of this spreads! YAHOO!

    Read My Four Fat Fingers

For many years labor union bosses have wanted one of their puppets high enough in government to make changes to the laws of our land - changes that would increase the power and control of the always corrupt labor machine.

Well now their most devoted bitch is in the very slot they have longed dreamed of. Come 2007 Edward Kennedy, long time union bitch, will take over the Senate Labor Committee.

For decades unions have put and kept Teddy Kennedy into office - protecting him and pumping money and influence into getting Kennedy into such a post. Of all of the possible committees do you think it is coincidence that the biggest politician on the union payrolls got this labor committee position?

The government control over the citizens is about to become more controlling that ever before. It is the mandate of liberal Democrats - the Democrats that are about to control Congress. It is within their genetic make-up to make government BIG - just watch and they will prove me right.

Two top items (of many) on the union's agenda:

1 - Use the power of the government to force companies to pay bigger wages, irregardless of skill levels. Union contracts are tied to federal minimum wage so when the minimum wage goes up the union contracts will all increase.

2 - Empower the government to force more union-free companies to become unionized (and thus take away rights of companies to protect their interests).

Hundreds of millions of dollars pour from union coffers into the hands of liberal Democrat politicians - whether union workers want those candidates or not - they have no choice.

You can bet Edward Kennedy gets a tidy bundle and now it's payback time. "On your knees bitch and do our bidding!"
